Online Wines delivered in the UK

Why buy your wine direct when the supermarkets have a good selection? Well, we think you will notice the difference, particularly if you go to a specialist supplier of unusual and fine wines like Oddbins. Not only can you have cases delivered to your door free of charge, but you will find there are some great offers on unusual wines that you simply can't find in the supermarket. And, instead of trying to pick a bottle when you already have a supermarket trolley laden with groceries, you can browse through the online wine catalogue, find out more about what you are buying and then place your order directly with Oddbins. You will find that there are pages full of information about the different types of wine you can buy. So, if you'd like to find out more about wine, why not take a look at Oddbins. There's no obligation to buy...though we bet you will be tempted!

About Oddbins

In '63 an innovative entrepreneur started a small business offering bin-ends of wine to the London's restaurants and clubs.

In the Seventies Oddbins, under new ownership and with some South East retail outlets introduced Britain to the Portugese and Southern French wines . Oddbins expanded across England, Scotland and Wales, with wooden floors and blackboards listing up their great offers.

In the Eighties, Oddbins, changed ownership again, but by then had over 100 stores, It became the first company to bring Australian wine onto the UK high street - and Ralph Steadman took up the challenge of developing the now famous Oddbins identity. Oddbinswon the International Wine Challenge's prestigious Wine Merchant of the Year for the first time in 1988.

In the Nineties, Oddbins held a consumer Wine Fair in London - the first of it's kind. It was such a success that they decided to hold two each year, both in London and in Edinburgh. Expanding outside the UK, shops opened in Dublin and Calais and '98 saw the first Oddbins Wine Fair in Ireland.

Into the 21st Century, and Oddbins started the new millennium as they mean to continue, winning the top award of Wine Merchant of the Year in both 2000 and 2001.

They celebrated by launching their internet site Oddbins.com and have continued to expand the British palate, by introducing Greek Wines to their shops. January 2002 marked another change of ownership, Oddbins is now owned by Castel Frères, one of the biggest wine producing companies in Frane. Vive la différence!
